Short Film (2022)
Following an abysmally dark chapter in her life, Charity comes to terms with her newfound reality.
Filmed over the course of 2 days in Malibu, Hollywood, and NVisionate Studios in Burbank, CA; "Forgiving Charity" is the 3rd short film from director Jamin Scotti. Starring Caiti Wiggins, Skye LaFontaine, and Shayne Eastin, this 11-minute LGBTQ Drama explores the inner-world of a young woman struggling with a deep depression.
Rooted in an oceanside conversation between Charity and her longtime girlfriend Day, the film is comprised of a series of visual memories. Depicting themes of addiction, loss, and suicide; “Forgiving Charity” is an exploration of the human grieving process. Due to adult themes and brief nudity, the film is not appropriate for audiences under the age of 17. "Forgiving Charity" was shot on a Panasonic SH1 steadicam rig by Cinematographer Alex Raaen, and a 2001 SONY DV Camcorder by Director Jamin Scotti.
LGBTQ people across the globe still face preconceived notions and dehumanizing stereotypes. “Forgiving Charity” was created in an effort to paint a humanizing picture of the LGBTQ experience. We are people; we live, we love, we experience loss. At a time when divisive language attempts to drive us apart; this film is a reminder of the Human behind the Label.
